Does mankind have a future in stars? Are we supposed to live and die here?

Awe-Inspiring, Jaw-Dropping are the words to describe 'Interstellar'. A movie that lets you experience space travel, with a great visual appeal, putting you on the pilot's seat.

That said, let me jump into the #space-time - #5thDimension plot of this flick.

Cooper (Mathew McCaunaghey) is an astronaut turned farmer, lives by his daughter, Murph (Jessica), and his son, Tom. Professor Brand (Michael Caine), a NASA scientist, reveals the extinction of human race, due to depletion of oxygen and the storms of dust. The last ever grown crop on Earth will be corn.

He devises Plan A and Plan B.

Plan A is where humans need to be transported to other habitable planets in other solar systems. For plan A to work, professor needs to solve unsolvable gravitational anomalies without which transport of humans becomes impossible. To solve this, professor needs data to be sent from the #Blackhole. There are few planets that is possible for human habitation and #astronauts are already in those planets researching the capability of habitation. Dr. Mann (Matt Demon) is one of them.

Plan B is to send astronauts to habitable planets and evolve colonies to protect civilization.

Here is where Cooper, the best pilot NASA has, is roped in along with other space explorers to drive a spaceship along with Brand's daughter, other co., and TARS, the computer that could send this data.

This is when the wormhole magically shows up near Saturn and that eases Plan A. Who drops this wormhole? as told by the professor, 'THEY'

    - A #wormhole is a theoretical Astrophysics concept which has space time bent in such a way you could reach other side of the universe in no time. 

This is theoretically possible because space with all the stars, galaxies, dust, matter is warped.

Cooper and others travel through this wormhole to land in a planet that they see is inhabitable. They don't have enough fuel and TIME to research other planets.

TIME is essence here because few minutes spent on this planet is 23 years time on earth.

TIME dilates in space and differs depending on gravity, motion of the object in space-time. Cooper and co., needs to find salvation for the humans on earth and return back to Earth to avoid human extinction.

This is where Cooper decides to enter a super-massive Blackhole. 

    - A black hole is stellar-mass of matter with super-super-massive gravity in it's singularity. Even light can't escape into this beast. Gravity is sucked till it's last force. Nothing comes out of a Blackhole. What's at the other end of a black hole is unknown, even mathematically, to theoretical physicists of our world.

Cooper goes into this Blackhole along with TARS only to enter a physical world !!!

Cooper is in the 5th dimension of space and the plot/salvation for humans is unveiled here.

    - To understand dimensions of the world

    0(zero) Dimension - Consider this a .(dot) (point with no width, height or length) is a point of singularity.

    1 Dimension - A line drawn between 2 points (no height or width)

    2 Dimension - When you add width to the line. Think of this as flat surface where you have different ends on each side. The wall before you is 2D where you can walk to different ends of the wall.

    3 Dimension - When you add different planes stacked up over and over. Essentially this is the world we see and perceive. If the wall you see has a depth (stacked planes of walls over and over...). A balloon that's with inflated space/air in it.

    4 Dimension - TIME. 'What' were you doing an hour back, half-hour back, 10 minutes back and now you'r reading the blog. 

           'What' were you when you were born few years back. 

           If you consider this 'What' or yourself as an object in plane of 'TIME', and you stack up yourself in this timescale? this is the 4th dimension.

           Think of this as different milestones in your life and the object you were in those milestones stacked up at different time.

    5th Dimension - This is the world shown in the movie as soon as Cooper enters the Blackhole. TIME is a physical entity in this 5th dimension ie., You can walk from 'Time' to 'Time'. There are different manifestations of yourself/'object' in different timelines. 

       As an example, think of 3 timeline planes' in your life from your birth. 

       - 1st timeline is when you joined a school, an engineering college, living in America.

       - 2nd timeline is when you dropped out of school, worked at a garage, living in Australia.

       - 3rd timeline is when you joined a school, skipped college, a Farmer living in India.

       

       If you were to see such INFINITE timelines and the manifestations of yourself in all these timelines and the possibility to see the future in each of the timeline, deciding to go to a particular timeline? ;)

       This is the 5th dimension walking through back and forth time ! Past and Future !

       

     Cooper sees this infinite timelines from the point of his daughter, Murphy's bookcase stacked in different timelines. At this point, Cooper wishes to send 'THAT' message to Murph to solve the gravitational anomalies making it possible to crack the equation.

     When Cooper is awakened, he sees humans living in stations near Saturn. This lets us understand that Murph solved the equation and knows to transport humans into space beating gravity!

     'THEY', as I understand, who dropped the wormhole near Saturn, are the 'US' who traveled into the future to determine the course of future! 'THEY' are the beings in the 5th dimension. Simply put, those 'beings' in the 5th dimension can choose different Time in any timeline. So, 'THEY' choose a TIME in the timeline for 'beings'(Cooper and Murph) in 3D world to communicate how to transcend gravity. When Cooper enters the #BlackHole, there are different timelines shown, and all of them show a point in TIME (Murph's bedroom).

It is important to understand that human beings on Earth have evolved to live ONLY UNDER GRAVITY and therefore the necessity for 3D beings to live beyond the influence of gravity. Nolan brings this understanding by showing the buildings in Cooper's Space Station turned upside down. Nolan's sheer brilliance!

     I could not understand certain parts of the movie and the dialogues, but stunning visuals of the worm hole, black hole makes it up and is a great retreat to watch. Those highly luminous star dust around black hole with light bent and those spherical worm holes to show that galaxies are warped in worm holes gets a dumb space science lover like me to jaw-drop.

 Nolan steals my heart with visuals. The family drama between father-daughter is a bit stretched, however, Nolan uses this love as a medium to send the message to Murph.

Nolan does it! Again!

Fabric of the Universe

If you remove you, me, cars, buildings and everything on earth, what's left is earth.

If you remove the earth,  the sun, the galaxies, what's left out is those tiny particles of atoms..

If you remove these particles... what's left out is nothing...

Is there something? 
                                       Empty Space.
Is there nothing? 
                                       Empty Space.

Is nothing something?

So REAL that this Empty Space forms everything. It is the essential fabric of the universe.

It was Sir Isaac Newton during the 18th century visualized what space could be.

When apple fell on the ground, You and I may have picked it up ;) 
But it occurred to Newton that there's a force that pulls the object towards the earth. The very force that keeps us away from flying into space. GRAVITY.

With the fall of an apple was the Birth of Modern Physics.

He devised laws of motion that governs objects' motion, how you, me, everything we see around, the earth, the moon, the sun, and how all the galaxies move.
These laws are so well that we use them today for anything you could imagine, launching satellites to landing planes, cars, trains, engines, EVERYTHING that could move.
The laws all hinge on one radical idea, SPACE. 

SPACE is REAL.

A skater spins around. She could realize that she spins because she could see those objects around her 'moving'. What is she spinning in relation to?

If he/she has to spin in empty space, she could not see those objects around her. But her hands span out. Newton would say that the skater's hands span out because she spins in relation to SPACE itself.

According to Newton, space is so real but passive. ie., Space does not affect the objects and the objects does not affect space and that space is static, never changing.

This notion about space was untouched until the clerk in the swiss patent office revisited the thinking about SPACE.

His Name: Albert Einstein

Newton laws could not explain how Earth and Moon do not collide with each other due to gravity or How moon rotates the earth in the same orbit. 

It was Einstein's envision on space that answers these.

According to Einstein, space could bend, twist, ripple. It is a thin a fabric that has it's own characteristics.

To explain:
Consider that the billiards table is made out of thin plastic sheet.
What will happen if you place a heavy object in the middle of this sheet?
Now, this is where it gets interesting and that made Einstein 'Einstein'.

You'd notice that the object is sunk, dip and creates a bend in the middle of the sheet in such a way that if you were to place a marble at one end of the sheet, it is going to slide towards the center where the heavy object is. If you were to place the marble in different sides of the sheet, you'll notice that the marble revolves around the object in a swirling motion until it hits the object.

Imagine this heavy object as the SUN and Earth being the marble, OR, Earth being the object and the Moon being the marble.

So what is this plastic sheet that showed it's characteristics as soon as you place these objects?

Einstein is one of the Greatest Scientists of mankind...

Einstein called this as 'SPACE TIME CURVATURE'.. 
What an idea...

Space warps the moon in it's curvature in a way that moon rotates the earth in it's orbit.
This force that swirls smaller objects around the bigger objects because of the space curvature is GRAVITY. The fabric of the universe, SPACE, creates a curvature when objects of heavy masses are placed in it and they all are bound towards each other through GRAVITY.

GRAVITY binds you, me, the buildings on earth. It is the force that binds the moon in it's orbit..the same force that binds earth to orbit around the sun. It is the force that binds the solar system, the stars in the galaxy and the galaxies in the universe...
.....because of the curvature of SPACE TIME. 

SPACE is so dynamic and it is still one of the deepest mysteries that mankind need to understand.

I am an 'Aam Aadmi' and my concern is...

Two years back when ‘India Against Corruption’ was founded, I was excited to be part of the new generation awareness for change in the fundamental working of the political system.

I was inspired by ‘Arvind Kejriwal’, the winner of the Magsaysay award, who galvanized the nation and brought people to streets to spearhead against the government that was ruthlessly corrupted in every possible opportunity.

An ‘aam aadmi’ realized the importance of transparency in the system and engineered ‘RTI’ that eventually could pull power sockets in different government agencies.  

Wow!!! India needs ‘Arvind Kejriwal’ – I’m convinced.

Few months back

The aw-inspiring Arvind Kejriwal launched the ‘Aam Aadmi Party’ that astonished several including me since I remember Kerjriwal mentioning earlier that to change the corrupted system one need not be part of the system. That’s what led to IAC.

Maybe, Arvind realized the importance of being in the political arena. I’m convinced, why shouldn’t Kejriwal be part of the system that needs radical changes?

2 months back and then on!

Kejriwal is the Chief Minister of Delhi. I was interested to see what development plans unwind to change the course of the corrupt politics, governance measures to tackle inflation, security of women in the capital.

To the much excitement of Arvind Kejriwal sworn in as Chief Minister, I was equally surprised, as half the nation, when ‘Aam Aadmi Party’ accepted the support of Congress Party. How could ‘AAP’ that fights corruption and that was founded on the basis of anti-corruption movement, take support of those you wish to fight with? Can I fight my enemy with my enemy backing me up in the field. My little knowledge of ‘battlefield’ tactics was beaten down! I’m confused!!!

But who is he fighting against? Is he fighting at all?

Can the ‘Law Minister’ of the capital state take law in his hands? – He can, because he is ‘Aam Aadmi’, and a man of responsibility, who has not studied the boundaries of the law and thereby advocating the illegal arrests of women at mid nights!

‘Should Kashmir be given away’? This is my common sense calling and I’m sure I don’t need diplomat studies to say that an ‘aam aadmi’ will not live without his head.

‘Khap Panchayats encourage cultural heritage’ – Well! the ‘Aam Aadmi’ is governed by the constitution and will not need parallel governments.

What We Need! INDIA is at cross-roads and must decide NOW!

We need a government that carves paths for millions of aspiring youth amidst the strategic, economic, political pressures from the neighboring countries and in the international forum.

We need a government with a nationalistic view over policies concerning it.

We need a government that has strong leadership in taking tough stances against the enemies.

We need a visionary who can propel growth from inward, lead to sovereignty.

I’m convinced that...

AAP is experiencing the indian way of politics and getting accustomed to it.

While AAP is still a baby learning to understand and cope up with the political pressures, what is the need for rush up in LS elections? Has Kejriwal succumb to the same system that he intend to change?

Kejriwal reminds me of  'Julian Assange' because I start to see him as a whistle blower rather than a leader that I voted to change the attitude of the political spectra.

As an 'aam aadmi' my vote is certainly not for AAP because I don't need a 'Aam Admi' to lead india but a leader with an iron fist who sees India as a whole nation.

     - Thanks to Mr. Kejriwal, I am a Confused 'aam aadmi'...Are you riding on our shoulders?
